This house was built in 1971 and was in sore need of an update. Previous owners had enclosed the original back porch which blocked the window access to one of the home's four bedrooms. It also made the family room and breakfast area very dark.
Working with the current owner we relocated the garage and opened up that space to a large covered porch. We also added a small seating area next to the breakfast room and rotated the kitchen so that it faced not only the new breakfast room but the side yard as well.
The kitchen is somewhat open to the family room which is what the current owner wanted. This helps keep kitchen noises to a minimum when you're in the family room watching t.v., but it's open enough so that you don't feel a total separation between the rooms.
